About Us

Jordan Gottschalk from Penalty Loop and RJ Weise from Biathlon Analytics break down the world of biathlon, focusing primarily on the IBU World Cup, but touching on a few other important areas as well. In the summer months we interview athletes, coaches and other people related to biathlon, with a main focus on understanding life of an athlete, coach, etc. in the IBU World.

All this with a little structure, but mostly our own unique spin based on the history and data of biathlon.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy it! If there is anything in particular you would like us to talk about or you have any help critiques we would love to hear it on social media (Jordan on Twitter - Jordan on Instagram -  RJ on Twitter - RJ on Instagram

We hope you enjoyed the first part of this interview on Tuesday! In this second part of Jordan interviewing RJ we learn even more about his background, his passion for biathlon, analytics and other things, and life in general.
We hope you enjoyed and will enjoy, and we'll switch back to an amazing Olympic and World Champion on Tuesday (followed by two episodes of RJ interviewing Jordan in the week after).

Tuesday Sep 20, 2022

As discussed and announced a number of times (by us and others) it is time to pause the interviews with biathletes and coaches who have achieved amazing things in the world of biathlon, and go with two people that haven't.... us. But it allows you to learn a bit more about the two hosts of this podcast; their background, passion for biathlon and other things, and life in general.
This is the first part of the interview with Jordan being the interviewer and RJ the interviewee. Part 2 will be posted on Thursday.
We hope you have fun listening, and next week we'll switch back to an amazing guest, followed by two episodes of RJ interviewing Jordan.
Cheers!

In this episode, Jordan was unable to make it, so you're stuck with RJ talking about biathlon data! Data nerds pay attention, this episode will be just up your alley! He goes into detail on where the data comes from, how he gets it and uses it, some tips and tricks for other users and the tool he uses for analysis and visualization. And a well deserved shout-out to RealBiathlon.com
Have fun!
